Drum Major, is your corp ready?

Lets be honest, as a cellist, I don't get too involved in the band world. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the DCI show in Denton, TX. The amount of sound they can produce is unbelievable. And to do it while practically running at the same time? They are beasts. Being in the company of a great friend of mine is nice as well. These photos are definitely not my normal artsy-ish, but who can resist great music and friends? I can't. :)

an outline of a solid object

sil·hou·ette (sĭl'ū-ĕt') - an outline of a solid object (as cast by its shadow).

To me, a silhouette allows the viewer to see the beauty of the moment, without being distracted by things like what clothing or shoes someone is wearing. You can see the crisp lines of detail and the dazzling color of a unique sunset. Not only was it neat to photograph and edit these photos, it was also an opportunity to spend time with an old friend that means a lot to me. As much as he doesn't want his photo up here, I'm going to post it anyway. Alex, thank you for being there for me, and putting things back into perspective when I get caught up in the moment of something. All the games of pool were fun too. :)

Update:
As we were walking around the park, I saw this little flower, and I thought it was cute. So I will share it with you :)

Hold your Hippogriffs!

I guess after seeing the ever so popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida, I should probably post a couple pictures of the magical land.

I'll admit, it's pretty sweet looking, however, I'd wait a couple years for the massive crowds to go down first.

Oh, and if virtual motion rides make you motion sick, don't ride it. If you like them, you will not be disappointed by the ride.

One more thing, the candy shop is pretty much the bomb diggity. Hopefully I can get pictures of that up soon.
I want to use this blog as an opportunity to post my photos because Facebook is well, lame and used for basically everything but blogging. I want something specifically geared towards my photography, art, and pieces from other artists that I enjoy. By no means am I trying to be a professional photographer because first and foremost, I am a musician. This is just a place to post my hobby, and for those of you who actually read these, I hope you enjoy.

If you haven't noticed yet, I love nature and all of the beauty that is in it. I take photographs of flowers particularly because the detail in just one flower is exquisite and deserves to be recognized, even if it is just a dandelion. However, I did try and branch out from flowers, and the result is a little unsettling. Ahem..Mr. Snake...

As girly and superficial as it sounds, I have a complete love for fashion. Well, particularly clothing because I definitely do not invest a lot in purses and such. My closet is literally color coded so I can find everything. It's a problem. I'd like to think I don't buy clothes just to look good, but also because I believe your clothing can be a way to show your personality. I honestly do enjoy figuring out how to put pieces, colors, textures, and styles together to form a small, yet unique glimpse into my personality. I mean come on, you can't seriously think my whole personality is shown through my clothes, how lame would that be?

By the way, this is Kathryn again. She is sporting a lovely black number with some Ann Marino heels next to the Draper Academic Building at Baylor University.

A rare gem.

Kathryn is a woman with a personality that is locked and loaded and ready to fire. She always seems to challenge me in ways many people cannot. Whether it be intellectually or just personally, I always walk away knowing that there is more too her. There is more to discover, and more to decipher. I believe that sometimes, people are too quick to judge, and they forget the very desire that we all long for, acceptance. We are not meant to be alone, we are meant to live in community with one another. Unfortunately, I don't believe most people understand the value of community. Those who judge too quickly are missing a tremendous opportunity to look into the eyes of our Creator. The things that make us unique are the same things that make us captivating and beautiful. Not some conceptualized idea of what society calls normal or beautiful. Remember, we are all made in His image.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27

We are fearfully and wonderfully made.
